Former Jammu and Kashmir governor and politician Satya Pal Malik hails from India. On July 24, 1946, he was born in the Uttar Pradesh district of Baghpat. Malik represented the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and then the Samajwadi Party as a member of parliament in both the Rajya Sabha and the Lok Sabha. Throughout his political career, Malik has occupied a number of significant roles, including Chairman of the National SC/ST Commission and Minister of State for Parliamentary Affairs, Tourism, and Culture. He was appointed governor of Bihar in 2018 and then moved to Jammu & Kashmir later that year.
